광주제일고 임진우

2018년 여름, 대만의 온도는 연일 40도가 넘는 찜통더위가 계속되었다. 하지만 방학을 이용하여 여행을 왔기에, 더위 정도는 이겨낼 수 있었다. 왜냐면 내셔널지오그래픽이 아름다운 해안으로 선정하고, CNN이 죽기전에 꼭 가봐야 할 곳으로, 대만의 ‘야류해상공원’ 이곳을 지정했기에, 우리는 찜통더위에도 불구하고 이곳을 방문하였다. 도착하였을 때, 바람이 유난히도 많이 불어서인지, 등줄기에서 흐르는 땀도 잠시 잊을 수 있었다.

야류해상공원은 대만 북쪽 해안에 위치해 있으며, 수천만 년 전부터 파도의 침식과 풍화 작용에 의해 독특한 모양의 바위로 생성된 지질공원이다. 바위의 이름은 그 모양에 따라 여왕머리, 공주머리, 계란바위 등 독특한 이름들을 붙여놓았다. 그렇지만, 이런 신기한 모양의 바위들은 단단해보이지만 손으로 잡으면 쉽게 부서지는 사암이라고 가이드가 말해주었다.

난 이 공원이 마치 버섯공원 같았다. 크고 작은 느타리 버섯들이 여기저기 형태를 이루어 오밀조밀 형성되어 있는 버섯마을 같았다. 또한 자세히 들여다보면, 구멍이 쑹쑹 뚫어져있는 것을 볼 수 있는데, 수억년 전 용암이 굳으면서 열과 압력에 의해 이런 모양이 만들어졌다고 한다. 이것이야말로 자연의 아름다움과 신비스러움을 느낄 수 있는 결정체가 아닐까 싶다.

이곳은 특이하게도 그늘이 없다. 그렇지만 바람이 많이 불기 때문에 더위도 잊혀지는 곳이다. 야류해상공원을 구경하면서, 이런 스팩타클한 경치에 빠져서 더위를 잊은거 아닌가 하는 생각도 든다. 자연은 역시 위대하다.

Part One: Go to YARYU Marine Park Gwangju Jeil High School, Im Jinwoo

  In the summer of 2018, the temperature in Taiwan continued to heat up to over 40 degrees a day. But I traveled using vacation, so I could overcome the heat. Because YARYU Marine Park was chosen by National Geographic as a beautiful coast. CNN also decided to go before dying, so we visited in spite of the heat of the steamer. When I arrived, it was windy, and I could forget about the sweat from my back.

  YARYU Marine Park is located on the north coast of Taiwan and is a geological park that has been created with unique shaped rocks by wave erosion and weathering for tens of millions of years. The name of the rock was given a unique name, such as queen's head, princess's head, and egg rock. Nevertheless, the guide says that these strangely shaped rocks look solid but are easily broken by hand.

  I felt like this mushroom park. Large and small oyster mushrooms looked like mushroom villages formed in various forms. Also, if you look closely, you can see that the hole is open, and this shape was formed by heat and pressure as the lava hardened hundreds of years ago. Perhaps this is the crystal that can feel the beauty and mystery of nature.

  It is unusually shadeless. However, because the wind blows a lot, the heat is forgotten. While looking at the YARYU Marine Park, I am wondering if I have forgotten the heat because of this spectacular view. Nature is great too.
